UFC 330: Date, start time, fight card and where to watch Islam Makhachev vs Ian Machado Garry title fight

Islam Makhachev makes his first welterweight title defence against Ian Machado Garry at UFC 330.

The former lightweight champion added the 170lbs belt to his collection last time out in November 2025 with a dominant performance against Jack Della Maddalena.

That victory made Makhachev, who is trained by UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov, one of 11 athletes in promotional history to become two-division champions.

And the Russian is confident he will extend his 16-fight undefeated streak when he faces Machado Garry, who has the chance to become the first Irishman since Conor McGregor to win a UFC title.

Machado Garry cemented his status as the division’s No. 1 contender by defeating Belal Muhammad at UFC Qatar last year, having previously overcome another top contender in Carlos Prates.

UFC 330: Date and Start time

UFC 330 takes place on Saturday, August 15.

It is being held at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia.

The preliminary card is set to get underway from 10pm BST (5pm ET, 2pm PT).

Main card action is then scheduled to start at 2am BST on Sunday (9pm ET, 6pm PT).

Makhachev and Machado Garry are expected to make their way to the cage around 4.30am BST (11.30pm ET, 8.30pm PT).

UFC 330: What has been said?

Speaking via High Performance, Machado Garry discussed the pressure he’s faced in his career due to comparisons to McGregor and his plans to become ‘great.’

“My whole career, I’ve had a lot of expectations,” the 28-year-old said.

“I’ve had a lot of pressure from the outside world, from the fans and the sport itself, to be this star, to live up to the hype that Conor McGregor set, being from Dublin, Ireland.

“I’ve had a lot of comparisons to Conor due to the fact that we’re both from Dublin, we’re both from Ireland, we both talk the talk, we both walk the walk, but we will fight anyone on the planet.

“And that has nothing to do with me, but everything to do with people comparing me to him.

“I’ve been very vocal about how I started this sport being a fan of his, and being inspired by Conor on his rise to greatness in the sport, and completely transcending the entire MMA scale to this entire world.

“He transcended the sport to a next level. When Conor fought for his first UFC world title, he fought the number one pound-for-pound fighter [Jose Aldo], who hadn’t been beaten for a decade, and he knocked him out in 13 seconds.

“I cannot wait to step into the octagon against Islam Makhachev and beat him, because there will be no doubt that I have done it against the best.

“To be the best, you have to beat the best. And my next opponent, right now, is regarded by everyone in the world as the number one ranked pound-for-pound fighter on the planet.

“Make no excuses, there will be no doubt. After the fight, I just want it to be known that Ian Machado Garry is great.”
