Transfer Notebook: Too soon for Mohamed Salah Liverpool return, Tottenham ready to sell Bissouma, West Ham snubbed by top striker target

Mo Salah appears unlikely to play for Liverpool in this weekend’s Premier League clash at home to Brighton.

Salah paid the price for his explosive take-down of manager Arne Slot by being left at home for Tuesday’s much-needed 1-0 Champions League triumph at Inter Milan.

Last season’s Premier League player of the year also claimed he would ‘say goodbye’ to Liverpool fans after the Brighton game.

As previously reported by talkSPORT, the Liverpool hierarchy have thrown their backing firmly behind manager Slot.

It was a board decision, in conjunction with Slot, not to take Salah to Italy.

With the Egyptian set to join up with his country for the upcoming African Cup of Nations by December 15, his participation in Saturday’s game is very much in the balance.

Focus will then turn to Salah’s long-term future at Anfield, with several Saudi Pro League clubs and a number of MLS sides watching developments.

Spurs want Bissouma out after latest offence

Tottenham are ready to offload Yves Bissouma in January.

Bissouma is facing disciplinary action by Spurs after footage emerged of him allegedly inhaling laughing gas for the second time in as many seasons.

The Mali international had already fallen foul of manager Thomas Frank after being dropped from Spurs’ Super Cup defeat to PSG for turning up late for training.

Bissouma, who cost £25m from Brighton, was subsequently omitted from Tottenham’s Champions League squad and has not played a single minute all season.

Galatasaray retain an interest in the 29-year-old after a potential move to the Turkish giants fell through last summer.

No Promises in West Ham’s striker search

West Ham’s hopes of signing Union Saint-Gilloise goal machine Promise David are fading.

The 24-year-old Canada international, no relation to Juventus striker Jonathan, has become one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers after scoring an impressive 25 times in 49 league games.

The Hammers are eyeing up a January swoop for 6ft 5inch David, nicknamed ‘Baby Lukaku’, to replace wantaway Niclas Fullkrug.

However, sources have told talkSPORT he would be reluctant to swap playing in the Champions League for a Premier League relegation battle.

That means it is likely to be back to the drawing board for the Hammers, who have promised manager Nuno Espirito Santo reinforcements in a number of positions.

The Hammers currently sit 18th in the Premier League table and are struggling for a regular source of goals, with Callum Wilson, Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta tied as the club’s joint top-scorers this season with four each in all competitions.

Blues bosses face fight to keep boss

Chelsea’s owners BlueCo could face a battle to keep hold of Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior.

Rosenior took over Strasbourg after being sacked by Hull having narrowly missed out on a play-off place and guided them into the Conference League last season.

Despite a mini three-game winless run in Ligue 1, Rosenior is on the radar of several Premier League clubs including his former side Fulham.

BlueCo see Rosenior as being capable of managing at the highest level and were able to fend off interest from Southampton and Leicester in the summer.

However, if a top-flight club come calling it may not be so easy to persuade him to stay.
