Transfer Notebook: Bournemouth rate Liverpool and Man United target at £80m, Arsenal ready to sell Martinelli, Hull target 95-goal striker

Bournemouth value sought-after midfielder Alex Scott at around £80million and remain determined to keep him this summer.

Scott is emerging as a target for Liverpool and fellow Premier League heavyweights Manchester United after a stellar season on the Dorset coast.

However, Bournemouth sources have doubled down on their stance that ambitious owner Bill Foley does not want to cash in on the Channel Islander.

The Cherries remain hopeful Scott will sign a new contract, potentially with an Antoine Semenyo-style release clause.

Semenyo penned a new five-year contract with Bournemouth last summer, which featured a £65m buy-out clause that was only active for the first two weeks of the following January transfer window – which was ultimately triggered by Man City.

Foley is also adamant Scott will not be allowed to leave on the cheap and acknowledges the price tags attached to other midfielders like Manchester City target Elliot Anderson, West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes and Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali.

Scott is expected to make his England debut against Costa Rica tomorrow.

Martinelli up for sale

Arsenal are ready to cash in on Gabriel Martinelli, bringing to end his six-year stay in north London.

Ruthless Mikel Arteta is planning a rebuild this summer in a quest to win back-to-back Premier League titles.

Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers is high on Arteta’s wanted list, meaning one of Martinelli or Leandro Trossard would be sold.

Brazilian international Martinelli is the most vulnerable after making only a handful of league starts as Arsenal were crowned champions for the first time in 22 years.

The Brazilian ace has managed 62 goals and 36 assists in 278 appearances for the Gunners since his arrival as an 18-year-old from hometown club Ituano in 2019.

Fulham left blindsided by Silva U-turn

Marco Silva had agreed a new deal with Fulham before making an 11th hour U-turn, talkSPORT understands.

Silva quit Craven Cottage after five years at the helm to return to his native Portugal and take over at Benfica.

His exit came as somewhat of a surprise to Fulham owner Shahid Khan after Silva had previously indicated he was ready to accept their offer of a bumper new £8m-a-year-contract.

Silva had also been promised a more hands-on role in recruitment in a bid to persuade him not to leave.

Ipswich’s Kieran McKenna is believed to be the Cottagers’ number one choice to replace the former Hull, Watford and Everton boss.

Newly-promoted Hull eye 95-goal striker

Hull City are considering offering Callum Wilson a Premier League lifeline.

Wilson is leaving West Ham following their relegation to the Championship.

The newly-promoted Tigers are eying the free agent market as a way to help prepare their squad for the top-flight.

England international Wilson, 34, has scored almost 100 Premier League goals and could be an astute pick up.

Meanwhile Hull’s veteran centre-back John Egan is set to be offered a new deal.
