Sunday’s North London Derby is perhaps the most eagerly anticipated in recent years as Tottenham will have a brand new manager in Igor Tudor in the dugout following the sacking of Thomas Frank with the club down in 16th in the Premier League table.

Arsenal head into derby weekend with a five point lead at the top of the tree but have played a game more than Manchester City, who could have whittled that lead down to just a couple of points by the time the Gunners kick off at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

As recently as a fortnight ago, Mikel Arteta’s side had a nine point lead at the top of the standings, but a run of just two wins in their last seven games, including a damaging draw at bottom of the table Wolves on Wednesday night which saw them give up a 2-0 lead, has left their lead looking rather precarious.

The Gunners are unbeaten in their last 10 matches on the road in all competitions but have only won two of their last five on their travels, including draws at Brentford and Wolves in their last two.

For Tottenham, Sunday afternoon will make the start of a new era as the team take the field for the first time since the sacking of Frank, who has left the side sat 16th in the Premier League table and just five points above the relegation zone.

Only the teams in the relegation zone having won fewer matches than Spurs, who also appear to be the side in the worst form out of those in the battle to avoid the drop.

Former Juventus manager Tudor has been appointed as Frank’s successor until the end of the season, and takes over a side without a Premier League win in their last eight matches, the longest winless streak in the division, and have picked up just two points from their last six outings.

Tottenham have won only two of their 13 matches in the Premier League this season, with only the league’s bottom side Wolves having won fewer, ahead of the visit of their fierce rivals on Sunday afternoon.

Arsenal have won six of the last seven North London Derbies, drawing the other, including victories in their last three visits to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, a run they’ll be looking to add to four to aid their bid for a first Premier League title in 22 years.

Spurs have won only one of their last 10 games against the Gunners.
