The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 concluded on a historic note, with the Harsh Dubey-led Vidarbha team lifting the title for the first time in the tournament’s history. The premier domestic 50-over competition once again proved to be a platform for emerging talent, as several young cricketers impressed with both bat and ball.

Among them, a number of bowlers stood out with consistent wicket-taking performances, using pace, swing, and spin to dominate opposition line-ups. Today, CricTracker has a look at three such bowlers who took the most wickets in the recently concluded season of India's most elite competition in the one-day format.

Here are the top 3 wicket-takers from Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26

3. Zeeshan Ansari (Uttar Pradesh)

Uttar Pradesh leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari finished as the third-highest wicket-taker, also with 21 wickets, but from eight matches. He was particularly economical, conceding runs at just 4.62 per over, while averaging 16.52. His best figures of 4/29 came against Chandigarh during the league stage match.

Ansari, who plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League, picked up a couple of four-wicket hauls in the season and was especially effective in the middle overs, regularly breaking partnerships and restricting scoring. His spells often proved match-defining and played a crucial role in Uttar Pradesh’s campaign.

2. Satyanarayana Raju (Andhra)

Andhra pacer Satyanarayana Raju is the second-highest wicket-taker, who claimed 21 wickets in just seven innings. He bowled with excellent discipline, conceding runs at an economy rate of 5.02 and maintaining a superb average of 16. Raju recorded both a four-wicket haul and a five-wicket haul, with his best figures being 5/44 against Haryana.

Although Andhra failed to progress beyond the group stage, Raju’s performances stood out throughout the tournament. He also bowled four maidens, which showed his temperament in the tournament.

1. Ankur Panwar (Saurashtra)

Saurashtra right-arm pacer Ankur Panwar finished the tournament as the leading wicket-taker. He picked up 25 wickets in 10 matches at an impressive economy rate of 5.86. Panwar maintained a solid bowling average of 21.32 and registered one four-wicket haul and one five-wicket haul during the season.

His best figures of 5/27 came against Andhra, where his pace and swing proved too much for the batters to handle. He bowled a total of 90.5 overs across 10 innings and showed remarkable stamina and consistency, often providing early breakthroughs and controlling the flow of runs.
