T.I’s daughter Deyjah Harris initiated as member of Delta Sigma Theta

A new legacy is unfolding at Clark Atlanta University as Deyjah Harris, daughter of rapper T.I., has officially become a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The milestone marks a powerful moment of sisterhood, legacy, and personal growth as Harris joins one of the nation’s most historic Black Greek-letter organizations.

Even more meaningful, Harris’ line name serves as a tribute to her late aunt, Precious Harris, who was a proud member of the sorority. By honoring her aunt’s legacy through this deeply personal gesture, Harris is not only embracing the values of Delta Sigma Theta but also continuing a family tradition rooted in service, strength, and sisterhood.

The moment quickly gained traction online, with a video of Harris going viral following her probate over the weekend. In the clip, she is seen strolling to “Bring Em Out,” one of her father’s most recognizable hits and a staple across Divine Nine culture. During her reveal, Harris shared her line name, “Precious Heir,” a heartfelt nod to her late aunt, Antoinette “Precious” Harris, who passed away in 2019 following a car accident.

Precious Harris was a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta, joining the Gamma Mu Chapter while attending Knoxville College in 1972. According to social media accounts tied to the college, Harris crossed on the same date as her aunt—adding an even deeper layer of legacy and synchronicity to the moment. Currently a sophomore speech communications major at Clark Atlanta University, Harris is carving out her own path while honoring the one laid before her.

Like his daughter, T.I. is no stranger to the HBCU experience. In 2020, he partnered with Dr. Melva K. Williams to co-teach a course titled “Business of Trap Music” at Clark Atlanta, exploring the origins, culture, and economics of the genre. More recently, he tapped into HBCU culture again by sampling the Tuskegee University Crimson Piper Band for his track “Trauma Bond,” even featuring the band in the official video.

Founded on January 13, 1913, at Howard University by 22 collegiate women, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has grown into the largest sorority within the Divine Nine, with more than 350,000 members worldwide and a global network of collegiate and alumnae chapters. The organization’s longstanding commitment to public service, scholarship, and social action continues to shape generations of Black women leaders.

For Harris, this moment is bigger than a viral video or a celebrity headline—it’s a powerful intersection of family, faith, and tradition. As she steps into her new role within Delta Sigma Theta, she carries not only her own story but also the legacy of those who came before her—proving that at HBCUs, every step, every stroll, and every line name tells a story that lives far beyond the yard.
