Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner celebrate Knicks reaching NBA Finals after Cavs seating controversy

The New York Knicks swept the Cleveland Cavaliers to reach the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999, with Timothee Chalamet and his fellow super fans in attendance once again for Game 4.

Hollywood star Chalamet is a regular fixture courtside at Madison Square Garden, and is often joined by girlfriend Kylie Jenner.

A host of other famous faces, including Tracy Morgan, Spike Lee and rapper Fat Joe, are usually found in the front row alongside him.

But at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, things weren’t straightforward as the Knicks fanatics settled in for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Cavaliers keep Knicks super fans away from courtside

Speaking on ESPN ahead of tip off, Grammy-nominated rapper Fat Joe revealed that the Cavs took his tickets from him because they didn’t want New York natives sitting courtside.

“This is moving the whole city,” he said of his beloved team’s run.

“I want to say to Cleveland… I have bad news.

“We had bought some courtside tickets to the game and once they found out it was super fan Fat Joe, they were like, I can’t sit courtside. New York Knick fans can’t sit courtside.”

When pressed by NBA Today hosts to clarify if he had been blocked by the home team, the rapper responded: “They took the tickets away — courtside — after we purchased it. So shame on you all.

“It’s alright, it’s okay, I love it… I’m glad to be here.”

Fat Joe’s claim quickly went viral, and prompted a quick response from the Cavaliers, days after Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift were spotted supporting Cleveland.

At least 10 other Knicks fans with courtside seats had been called by an executive and told they weren’t welcome in the front row, a source told The New York Post.

“Playoff courtside seating is governed by a specific agreement that prohibits the resale or transfer of tickets without approval,” a Cavs spokesperson told the outlet.

“All courtside ticket holders are required to comply with the terms of the single-game playoff agreement.”

Once inside the arena, the rapper was seated away from the front row, in what The Athletic reported was a ‘deliberate strategy from Cleveland to reserve the premier seats exclusively for Cavaliers fans.’

Spike Lee was also seen at the game in the second row — but Chalamet and Jenner managed to find a way around.

Footage shared on social media showed the couple all smiles as they were able to sneak courtside, decked out in Knicks gear. Other videos had initially shown them sitting further back.

It’s unclear how they were able to secure the seats, given other New York fans were unable to join them in the front row.

The Knicks went on to secure a 130-93 win at Rocket Arena, to complete an Eastern Conference Finals sweep that sends them to the NBA Finals for the first time in 26 years.

And while many of their super fans were sat further back, that didn’t stop them from crashing Cleveland’s home court post game.

Comedian Morgan was in tears as his beloved Knicks punched their ticket to the Finals, while Chalamet was seen sharing a moment with series MVP Jalen Brunson.

Lee was then seen lying down on the court, filming as his team celebrated with the Bob Cousy Trophy, which is handed to the winners of the Eastern Conference.

While the celebs got the party started in Cleveland, back in New York, thousands more took to the streets to celebrate, as the Knicks seek their first championship since 1973, when they defeated the Los Angeles Lakers.

There’s no doubt that the likes of Fat Joe, Chalamet, Jenner, Morgan and Lee will all reunite at Madison Square Garden in June, when the Finals heads to NYC.

And they will all hope the Oklahoma City Thunder or San Antonio Spurs — currently tied at 2-2 in the Western Finals — are more welcoming than the Cavs were on the road.
