Timberwolves’ Mike Conley opens up about Anthony Edwards, Donte DiVincenzo injuries
Mike Conley and the Minnesota Timberwolves find themselves in a difficult situation as they see Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo on the sidelines due to significant injuries this postseason.
The Timberwolves saw both Edwards and DiVincenzo go down with injuries in Game 4 of the first-round series against the Denver Nuggets. DiVincenzo tore his Achilles in the first two minutes of the game then Edwards injured his knee later on in the contest.
DiVincenzo will miss the remainder of the playoffs as well as most of the 2026-27 season, while Edwards will miss several weeks to recover from the injury. Conley gave his thoughts on Minnesota being in this situation as he hopes the team remains resilient to overcome the adversity they have been through.
“With the two injuries we had in one game it’s as positive as it can get, after seeing Donte… I called him that night driving home from the game, checking on him, seeing how he’s doing and he’s still the same dude man. Positive, anxious… upset about not being out there but excited for our opportunity,” Conley said, via reporter Andrew Dukowitz.

What lies ahead for Timberwolves amid injuries
Mike Conley and the Timberwolves are one game away from reaching the West semifinals as they lead 3-1 in the series against the Nuggets. Without Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo, they will need to dig deep into their roster depth to pull through in the postseason.
Edwards and DiVincenzo featured as key scorers in the starting lineup as the primary backcourt. Conley and Ayo Dosunmu, the latter who came through with a strong performance off the bench in Game 4, will look to provide significant contributions with bigger responsibilities in the rotation.
The Timberwolves look to secure the series win when they face the Nuggets on the road in Game 5. The matchup will take place on April 27 as tip-off is set for 10:30 p.m. ET.
