Timberwolves’ Jaden McDaniels has No. 1 fan in Anthony Edwards

The Minnesota Timberwolves have one of the biggest villains in the NBA in their lineup, and it may not be the player you expect. While Anthony Edwards can upset some people with his in-your-face attitude on the court, Jaden McDaniels has actually been the center of controversy during these playoffs after the team’s first-round victory over the Denver Nuggets. Unsurprisingly, Edwards is a huge fan of what his teammate has been doing, according to a compilation of clips from the NBA via X, formerly Twitter.

“I got two words for you, Jaden McDaniels. Jaden is incredible. I mean, look at him. He’s been playing phenomenal. This guy right here, man, he was the leader tonight. He stepped it up big time. Jaden never looks tired. It looks like he can play 48 minutes. He has grown every year he’s been a member of this team. Like I said, he’s my favorite player in the NBA,” Edwards raved over numerous clips.

McDaniels wasn’t just a complementary piece in the Timberwolves’ Round 1 win against the Nuggets. He backed up the trash talk by leading Minnesota in scoring and shutting down the Nuggets’ biggest stars. For McDaniels, the hype thrown at him by Edwards doesn’t fall on deaf ears.

“My teammates got confidence in me, Ant gives me the most confidence,” McDaniels told a reporter in the NBA’s video.

Edwards missed the final games of the Nuggets series with a knee injury, but returned to play limited minutes in Games 1 and 2 against the San Antonio Spurs. With their superstar hurt, Minnesota will need McDaniels to continue to step up.
