talkSPORT understands that Bournemouth are looking to tie the England World Cup hopeful down to a new contract.

Scott is on Manchester United‘s list of potential midfield targets with his current deal expiring in 2028.

Scott was rewarded for his performances with a maiden Three Lions call-up by Thomas Tuchel in November.

However, he remains without a senior cap having been an unused substitute for their final World Cup qualifier against Albania.

The 22-year-old was then left out of Tuchel’s last squad in March despite 35 players being included.

Scott has been tipped to earn a spot in this summer’s World Cup squad, though.

Tuchel will name his 26-man selection for the tournament on Friday, May 22.

Former Bournemouth left-back Charlie Daniels wants to see Scott on the plane to North America.

The Watford assistant manager joined Jeff Stelling and Gabby Agbonlahor on Monday’s talkSPORT Breakfast show.

Asked if he wants to see Scott in the squad, Daniels admitted: “Yes, I think I do.

“I think he’s played so well this season and he’s shown it every single game this season, how well he is and how good he is and also in the Under-21s last year when they won.

“So I think he deserves a chance. Hopefully, Tuchel will give him that chance and again, it’s just another lovely milestone for Bournemouth.”

Scott has previously starred for the Three Lions at youth level, winning the Under-21 Euros under Lee Carsley last summer.

The former Bristol City man was also part of the Under-19s side which was crowned European champions in 2022.

He subsequently joined Bournemouth a year later, signing a five-year deal at the Vitality Stadium.

Having established himself in the Cherries’ midfield, Scott has featured in all of their Premier League matches so far this season.

His 36 league appearances have included three goals and one assist.

Bournemouth currently sit sixth in the table with two matches remaining as they eye European football for the first time.

As for England, the Three Lions are set to play warm-up matches for the World Cup next month after Tuchel names his final squad.

They will take on New Zealand and Costa Rica in Florida on the eve of the tournament.

Tuchel’s side then face Croatia in their opening group stage match on June 17.
