The pick Ravens GM Eric DeCosta let owner make in 2026 NFL Draft

The Baltimore Ravens added 11 players through the 2026 NFL Draft. One of them was a direct choice from owner Steve Bisciotti.

Bisciotti had been begging general manager Eric DeCosta to make a pick. DeCosta then had to remind him that he owns the team. Ultimately, Bisciotti used a fifth-round selection on Clemson running back Adam Randall, via Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.

“When we were down in Florida, Steve was begging for a draft pick—and he owns the team. I said, ‘Yeah, Steve, of course you can have a draft pick,'” DeCosta said.

The Ravens obviously have Derrick Henry established as their lead running back. With Keaton Mitchell bolting for the Los Angeles Chargers, Justice Hill has moved into the backup role. Randall will now battle for an opportunity to carve out his own share of the offense as a rookie.

His first order of business will be simply remaining healthy. He tore his ACL back in 2022 before breaking his hand and suffering a stress fracture in his toe, via Jamison Hensley of ESPN. Still, for the Ravens, and specifically Bisciotti to be so enamored with him, they must believe in Randall’s overall potential.

He entered his time at Clemson as a wide receiver. However, he switched to running back as a senior, gaining 814 and 10 touchdowns on 168 carries. Randall also caught 36 passes for 254 yards and three touchdowns, all career-highs ironically enough.

He’ll now continue his transition to running back at the NFL level. With his pass catching experience, he could become a dual threat out of the backfield. At the very least, Bisciotti is expecting him to make an impact.
