Bet of the Day – Leeds to beat Manchester City @ 17/4

It seems to have been widely accepted that Manchester City have been on a devastating run of form as they blow teams away on route to the Premier League title. However, there has been little evidence to support that view and, if anything, Pep Guardiola’s men have been riding their luck.

Yes, City have won seven of their last eight matches, but the victories have come against Newcastle twice, Galatasaray, Wolves, Fulham, Liverpool and Salford, which hardly rates a difficult set of fixtures.

The Citizens gave up 13 shots, five corners and 45 per cent possession in a 2-1 Etihad success over the Magpies last weekend and that was not a convincing triumph.

Leeds have lost only two of their last 16 matches and the Whites haven’t benefited from a kind run of fixtures.

Daniel Farke’s men have faced Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Newcastle and Manchester United in the last couple of months and that hasn’t stopped them from putting in an excellent sequence of results.

At 17/4, there appears to be plenty of mileage in punting Leeds to upset City on Saturday evening.

Special of the Day – Liverpool to win, over 2.5 goals and Liverpool to score the first bet builder @ 23/20

West Ham will no doubt attempt to sit in and frustrate Liverpool at Anfield, but the Reds have scored 19 times in their last six home matches and the task may be beyond the Hammers.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are desperate for points in their bid to avoid relegation, which may mean they are forced to chase the contest if falling behind and that’s a dangerous game against the Reds.

There have been a total of 31 goals in the last eight matches between Liverpool and West Ham and all but one of those games has bust the 2.5 goal line.

Taking a Liverpool victory, over 2.5 goals and the Reds to score first in a bet builder pays an enticing 23/20.

Longshot of the Day – Hearts, Hibernian, Livingston, Motherwell fourfold @ 11/1

Hearts are unbeaten in 16 Tynecastle Scottish Premiership matches this season and the league leaders can continue their title push against Aberdeen.

The Dons have lost seven of their last eight away games and they still haven’t appointed a full-time manager.

Hibernian picked up a huge win when beating Celtic 2-1 at Parkhead last weekend and in-from Hibs can see off a Dundee side who have won only one of their last six games.

Livingston almost grabbed a huge victory over Rangers last time out, but it’s 28 matches without success for Livi. However, that 2-2 draw can boost their confidence and they may be able to get the better of St Mirren at Almondvale.

Motherwell have lost only two of their last 19 games and the progressive Steelmen have tasted victory in seven of their last eight home games.

Dundee United offered little in a 0-0 draw with Aberdeen last time out and the Terrors are heading for a Fir Park nightmare.
