Tuesday’s football betting tips
Bet of the Day – Airdrieonians to beat Alloa @ 13/10
The promotion/relegation play-offs are underway in Scotland and third tier Alloa will face Championship side Airdrieonians at Recreation Park in their first leg, with the winners bidding to play in the second tier next season.
Airdrie boss Aaron Taylor-Sinclair saw his side being held to a nervy 1-1 draw at Greenock Morton on Friday night, with Lewis Strapp sent off in the second half not long after the visitors had gone in front. Morton’s leveller spared them the playoff spot.
Airdrie come into this game unbeaten in four, having scored seven goals. Alloa, meanwhile, have won just two of their last nine in League One and were dismissed 4-1 at home by Queen of the South on Saturday, the sides trading places in the table on the final day.
It’s a big ask to pick themselves up and the North Lanarkshire side can grab a vital first-leg advantage.
Special of the Day – Arsenal to win, Under 2.5 Goals, Viktor Gyokeres to score anytime, Bukayo Saka 1+ Shots on Target @ 23/5
Arsenal will be feeling confident they can get the better of Atletico Madrid in their semi-final second leg to book a first Champions League final appearance in two decades.
They made a positive start in the Spanish capital, with a 1-1 draw in which they largely held the hosts at bay, and will feel they should have had a late penalty to win it but for a VAR intervention.
Both teams have scored in just three of the Gunners’ last 13 home games in the competition, while the last five games for Mikel Arteta’s side in this competition have featured two or less goals.
Viktor Gyokeres dispatched a penalty in Madrid and the Swede hit a brace against Fulham at the weekend. He could be the difference-maker.
Bukayo Saka managed a goal and an assist against the Cottagers as the winger started for the first time in eight games after his injury problems.
He’s capable of a shot on target in what could be a grind against Diego Simeone’s side.
Acca – Airdrieonians, Queen of the South and Arsenal all to win @ 15/2
Arsenal are in the driving seat against Atletico Madrid ahead of their second leg meeting at the Emirates.
The La Liga side were surprisingly subdued for much of the first leg and will have recent memories of a 4-0 defeat on this ground in October. The Gunners looked very efficient in their weekend win over Fulham and can book a berth in the Champions League final.
Airdrie are fancied to prove too strong for Alloa in their promotion/relegation playoff at Recreation Park, the hosts have just two third tier wins in the last nine games and are now facing stronger opposition.
Queen of the South will be on a high after scoring four at Alloa on Saturday, extending their unbeaten sequence to nine games.
They are unbeaten in 10 home games against Stenhousemuir, winning five of the last seven, and the Doonhamers can take care of Gary Naysmith’s side once more on their own patch.
