UFC 327 Tips
- Jiří Procházka to win by KO, TKO or DQ @ 6/4
- Curtis Blaydes to win @ 8/11
- Mateusz Gamrot to win by decision @ 1/1
Jiri to find a finish
An intriguing main event sees Jiří Procházka (32-5-1) and Carlos Ulberg (13-1-0) fight for the Light Heavyweight crown.
Procházka is a former champion, winning the belt against Glover Teixeira in just his third fight with the UFC via a fifth-round submission in 2022.
Now with a 6-2 Octagon record, the Czech fighter has only been beaten in the UFC by Alex Pereira, both times by second round knockout.
Ulberg arrived in the UFC in 2021, losing his debut via knockout to Kennedy Nzechukwu.
Since then the New Zealand fighter has climbed the rankings with nine straight wins and was last seen finishing Dominick Reyes in the first round last September.
Ulberg is a kickboxer, with a patient and methodical style who likes to work off the back foot; with his five UFC knockouts also showcasing his power.
In contrast, Procházka has a wild and unpredictable style who has never gone the distance in the UFC and last saw the final bell ten years ago when fighting for RIZIN.
In his combined UFC and RIZIN record of 17 wins, the 33 year-old has 15 knockout wins.
Procházka has shown improvements in defense in recent stoppage wins over Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree Jr and is the pick here to create a moment of chaos as Ulberg slows down.
Blaydes to show his class
The featured fight on the main card sees Curtis Blaydes (19-5-0) face Josh Hokit (8-0-0).
Blaydes remains ranked at number five in the Heavyweight division and got back in the win column last time out with a split decision victory over Rizvan Kuniev.
In his tenth year in the UFC, the 35-year-old has victories against some of the best fighters from the last two eras, with his wrestling base and heavy hands that has seen eight knockouts from 14 wins.
Hokit is 2-0 in the UFC and has shown strong wrestling and fast hands in stoppage wins against Max Gimenis and Denzel Freeman.
At 6’1″ and 235lbs, the 28-year-old isn’t the biggest heavyweight, while at 6’4″ and 257lb Blaydes has a clear size advantage.
Blaydes’ only defeats since 2023 have come to Tom Aspinall and Sergei Pavlovich and at the odds looks a solid bet to see off this unranked challenger.
Gamrot to grapple
Mateusz Gamrot (25-4-0) can show his top level experience against Esteban Ribovics (15-2-0).
Gamrot returns after a second-round submission loss to newly crowned BMF champion Charles Oliveira last October which took his UFC record to 8-4.
The 35-year-old has been a staple of the top ten of the Lightweight division for some time and has wins over Rafael dos Anjos, Rafael Fiziev and now number one contender Arman Tsarukyan.
Ribobics is 4-2 in the UFC and has shown a high output striking style, recording solid wins over Elves Brener, Daniel Zellhuber and Terrance McKinney.
At 29 years old, the Argentinian fighter continues to evolve, but has shown fights can get away from him in losses to Nasrat Haqparast and Loik Radzhabov, where he was taken down 11 times.
Gamrot has the street smartness to use his grappling to good effect here and is the pick to hold his spot in the top ten of the fierce 155lb division.
