Stunning Sidney Crosby stat shows Penguins’ experience advantage over Flyers
The Pittsburgh Penguins will be facing off against the Philadelphia Flyers in the first round of the playoffs, and it should be a good matchup between two teams that have played well this season. This series could come down to who has the most experience, and if that’s the case, then the Penguins will easily take it off the strength of one person.
Sidney Crosby has been in many playoff battles throughout his career and has won three Stanley Cups in the process. He’s also scored a lot of points, and this stat should tell you everything there is to know about what the Flyers are about to get themselves into.
“Looking ahead to Philly-Pittsburgh Game 1… Sidney Crosby has 201 career playoff points. Philly’s projected Game 1 roster (via [Puck Pedia]) would have a combined 189 career playoff games. Led by LUKE GLENDENING’s 50,” Chris Jastrzembski of NHL on TNT wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
It will be interesting to see how the Penguins will be able to use that experience to their advantage against the Flyers, but it may also not be something that bothers them. Both teams were pretty much neck and neck all season, and this playoff series will show which one is the best out of the two.
For the Penguins, this is their first playoff appearance since the 2021-22 season. They’ve had success over the past decade, winning two Stanley Cups in that period, and the hope is that they can add to the collection this postseason.
