Spurs’ De’Aaron Fox already eclipses Game 1 scoring totals in Game 2 1st quarter
De’Aaron Fox seems to be bouncing back from his struggles with a strong start in Game 2 of the 2026 NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and the New York Knicks on Friday night.
Fox is going through the ninth season of his career, his second with the Spurs. He is experiencing the second playoff run of his career, which saw him help the Spurs get to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2014.
However, his debut in the championship round didn’t see the best in him. In 38 minutes of action, he only had seven points, five assists, four rebounds, and a steal. He shot 3-of-13 from the field, including 0-of-4 from beyond the arc.
Fox knew he had to bounce back to give San Antonio a better chance at winning a game in this series. In the first quarter of Game 2 alone, he did just that by scoring nine points on 4-of-5 shooting overall.
