Spencer Jones’ heartwarming reaction to seeing 1st Yankees locker
The New York Yankees have called up Spencer Jones from Triple-A Scranton amid Jasson Dominguez’s injury. Jones, an outfield prospect, has been mashing the ball for the Railriders. His strikeout rate concerns some, but he can prove those doubters wrong at the highest level. Jones saw his first locker in the Milwaukee Brewers clubhouse on Friday, as captured in this video.

The first portion of the video from the Yankees social media team shows Jones walking through American Family Field. Ben Rice and Austin Wells, who came up with the 24-year-old through the minor leagues, are ribbing him, telling him to soak it all in. Then, they get to the clubhouse.
Jones finds his locker, with jersey number 78 posted above it, and says, “I made it.” A poignant moment for an outfielder who has spent a lot of time on buses between minor-league cities. Now, he has a chance to make a name for himself with the New York Yankees.
Jones was a first-round pick by the Yankees back in 2022. Since then, he has made stops at nearly every minor-league level. This year in Scranton, he has 11 homers, 41 RBI, and a .958 OPS in 33 games. The 46 strikeouts to 18 walks is what some will focus on, and that may continue in his first MLB start.
If Jones debuts for the Yankees against the Brewers on Friday, he will face flamethrowing righty Jacob Misiorowski. A 2025 All-Star, Misiorowski has turned it up a level in 2026. He has a 2.84 ERA in seven starts with 59 strikeouts to just 15 walks.
