Sparks’ Kelsey Plum shares thoughts on playing with Kate Martin

Kelsey Plum had big positive remarks on playing alongside Kate Martin following the Los Angeles Sparks’ victory over the Portland Fire on Sunday night.

Plum is going through the 10th season of her WNBA career, her second with the Sparks. She is enjoying an incredible start to the season, torching the nets with a career year in scoring and playmaking.

It is also her second season having Martin as her teammate. They played together as members of the Las Vegas Aces throughout the 2024 campaign, reuniting in Los Angeles this past offseason.

Martin is adapting to life on the team while coming off the bench. Plum expressed her complete support of her fellow teammate after Los Angeles’ win over Portland, per reporter John Davis.

“You see her impact every time she goes in the game, her energy, she makes shots, she’s super active, and we need more of K-Mart,” Plum said.

“My job is whoever’s on the roster that day, just put them in positions to be successful. I obviously have experience playing with Kate, and one of the things I love about Kate, she’s always in the right spot. That’s why you see a lot of us connect a lot of times. She’s just like always in the right spot. So looking forward to play with K-Mart a lot more this year.”
