Soccer star’s penalty kick was so bad he immediately faked injury

A friend match between Uruguay-based club Peñarol and Chilean club Colo Colo went viral for the wrong reasons on Wednesday when Colo Colo’s Cristian Zavala took an awful penalty kick attempt and immediately went down with an injury.

The internet seemed to believe that he faked the injury because his penalty shot was so bad, but his manager defended him after the game, saying “Zavala had a problem. I understand wanting to take a penalty, that’s just the kind of madness and anxiety Cristián has. But I think his emotion led him to take it. Now they’re checking it out, hopefully it’s nothing serious,” per ESPN.
