Sky’s 2025 No. 10 pick signs with Kentucky after No. 11 pick Hailey Van Lith gets cut

The Chicago Sky have dealt with a lot of changes over the offseason, and one of the more recent moves they made was cutting Hailey Van Lith, who was the No. 11 pick in the WNBA Draft. There was some more news that came out about their No. 10 pick in the same draft, Ajša Sivka.

Sivka has made the decision to sign with Kentucky basketball after forgoing joining the Sky last season to remain in Europe to finish high school. She ended up playing for the Slovenian national team in the 2025 FIBA Women’s European Basketball Championship. She averaged 7.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game over three appearances at the EuroBasket Women’s Championship.

Kentucky head coach Kenny Brooks had a statement about Sivka.

“I am delighted to welcome Ajsa to our program,” Brooks said in a news release. “Her combination of size and skill will fit into our system seamlessly.

“Ajsa is a tremendous shooter, scorer and playmaker from the wing position and she will add experience to our team. Big Blue Nation, let’s welcome Ajsa to our family!”

This probably doesn’t affect the Sky as much, but hopefully, this move can help Sivka get more playing time in the States. There have been several athletes who have tried to go back to college after being drafted into the league, but the success stories haven’t been the best.

The Sky will have a new look this season with all the moves that they made, which include the signings of Skylar Diggins, DiJonai Carrington, Azura Stevens, and others.
