Shedeur Sanders posts cryptic message as Browns’ NFL Draft intentions become clear

Shedeur Sanders dropped a cryptic message on social media as noise continues to grow around an impending quarterback battle.

The NFL star is heading into his second season with the Cleveland Browns, having started seven games in 2025.

He took the QB1 role in Week 11 against the Baltimore Ravens, after fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel went down with a concussion.

Sanders started for the rest of the year, but despite showing flashes, didn’t do enough to lock down the position for 2026 and beyond.

Instead, the Browns will throw him into another quarterback competition when training camp rolls around, this time with the returning Deshaun Watson.

Much has been made of Cleveland’s signal calling situation, but it seems Sanders is tuning out the noise.

Shedeur Sanders drops cryptic message

The 24-year-old is well known for sending out messages on his social media accounts, which boast more than three million followers across Instagram and X.

On Friday, March 13, he took to the latter platform with a cryptic note.

“Learn to value the opinions of those who care about you, not the noise from everyone else,” he wrote.

The timing of the post is rather interesting.

Free agency has been in full swing all week, and the 2026 NFL Draft is coming up.

There has been plenty of speculation that the Browns could be looking at bringing in another quarterback to challenge Sanders and Watson for that starting spot.

In fact, NFL analyst Marc Ross exclusively told talkSPORT that Cleveland risks getting ‘stuck in QB limbo’ for another year if they don’t bring in reinforcements.

Has Sanders been listening to that noise, or potentially heard of such a move being made? Given his cryptic message, it wouldn’t be surprising.

When it comes to the draft, though, the Browns could be looking in a different direction — and one that would help Shedeur, or whoever takes the starting role.

Cleveland draft plans become clear with top-30 visit

Browns general manager Andrew Berry has been heavily focused on the offensive line in free agency so far.

Guard Zion Johnson, center Elgton Jenkins, and tackle Tytus Howard will be three new starters up front in 2026.

Cleveland could be set to land a new weapon in the draft, too.

According to NFL analyst Ryan Fowler, the Browns will host Indiana wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. for a top-30 visit.

NFL teams can bring up to 30 players in for these meetings, which help them get to know players better and do medical checks, as well as workouts.

Fowler added the San Francisco 49ers will also meet with Cooper, who has been described as ‘one of the premier wideouts in the class.’

With the Hoosiers last season, he racked up an impressive 937 yards and 13 touchdowns en-route to winning the College Football Playoff National Championship, alongside projected No. 1 draft pick Fernando Mendoza.

NFL's Greatest......

Ranking the top 10......

Quarterbacks of all-time – Can anyone better Tom Brady?

Wide receivers of all-time – Does Randy Moss or Jerry Rice come out on top?

Running backs of all-time – Stacking Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith and more

Tight ends of all-time – How does Travis Kelce compare?

Cooper has been touted as a late first, or an early second-round pick.

Should he land in Cleveland, he would provide a much-needed boost to a wide receiver room that doesn’t boast a whole lot of talent beyond Jerry Jeudy.

The Browns have the No. 6 and No. 24 picks in round one of the draft, as well as the 39th overall pick in round two.

It’s likely Cooper will come off the board on Day 1 or early Day 2, and if Cleveland takes him, whoever wins the quarterback battle will have an exciting weapon at their disposal in 2026.
