Seahawks surprisingly spurn trade frenzy to make No. 32 pick to replace Kenneth Walker III
Towards the end of the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, there was a sudden flurry of trades. Teams were suddenly jockeying for position at the later end as they looked to get the guy that they wanted. With the Seattle Seahawks picking last in the first round, fans were wondering about one thing: will the Seahawks trade out of the first round as well?
Instead of going with the trend, the Seahawks instead stayed put at pick #32. The final pick of the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft is Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price, who will be going to the Super Bowl champions in Seattle. Price was the primary backup to 2026 3rd-overall pick Jeremiyah Love, who went to the Arizona Cardinals.
The Seahawks had David, a beneficiary of the Make-a-Wish Foundation, announce the final pick of the first round.

The Seahawks are coming off their first Super Bowl win in over a decade, but the path to defending their title will be difficult. The defending champions lost a lot of players in free agency. Perhaps the biggest loss of the offseason was Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III, who signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency.
Drafting Price immediately fills a major need for the Seahawks. Aside from Walker’s departure, Seattle is also dealing with a torn ACL from his backup Zach Charbonnet. Taking a good running back is not a bad option for the team, especially as most of their defense is intact and can be addressed in Days 2 and 3 of the draft.
Price played behind Love for the 2025 season, but he was productive in the time he played in. He averaged six yards per run last season, which should be encouraging for the Seahawks as he integrates into a two-back system.
