Scottie Scheffler’s wallet grows heavier with each tournament.

The 29-year-old started the year as he means to go on by taking out The American Express in California in a four-shot victory.

Scheffler was in imperious form as he produced nine birdies in the final round, although a double bogey on the par-three 17th threatened to open the door to the chasing pack.

How many PGA Tour events has Scheffler won?

However, the American ace had built up enough of a lead to secure the win, which was Scheffler’s 20th on the PGA Tour.

Scheffler is the youngest to have accomplished the feat and the second-fastest to do so in history in terms of days taken.

The American ace was also the third-fastest in terms of events played having done so after 151 events, behind only Tiger Woods (95) and Jack Nicklaus (127).

“It’s pretty wild,” Scheffler said.

“It has been a great start to my career and I’ve had some nice wins out there.

“It has been special and I try not to think about that stuff too much.

“Going into the season, I was just trying to do the things I needed to do in order to be prepared to come out and play this week.

“I’m going to go home, get some rest and kind of rinse and repeat.”

Scheffler’s exploits in La Quinta added a tidy $1.656million (£1.2m) to his bank balance.

How much money has Scheffler won in his career?

That healthy seven-figure boost means Scheffler has now scooped up an eye-watering $100m in prize money throughout his golf career.

Scheffler is just the third person to have done so along with Woods and Rory McIlroy.

Woods is the clubhouse leader for PGA Tour earnings, sitting just shy of $121m (£88.5m).

McIlroy is second with nearly $108m (£79m) to his name.

Although Scheffler has some catching up to do, he’s well clear of Phil Mickelson, who sits fourth in the list with $96m (£70m).

Rounding out the top ten is Dustin Johnson, Justin Rose, Jim Furyk, Vijay Singh, Justin Thomas and Adam Scott.

Scottie Scheffler's earnings over the years

All figures in USD

2021-22: $14,046,910

2022-23: $21,014,342

2024: $29,228,357

2025: $27,659,550

Aside from Scheffler’s money-spinning feats, it is the speed in which he has accumulated prize money that makes his achievements all the more remarkable.

Over 90 per cent of Scheffler’s earnings have been brought in since the 2021 season, with 2024 representing his best year yet when it came to prize money.

In 2024, Scheffler raked in a whopping $29m (£21m) in prize money.

That year, he won the Masters for the second time and enjoyed top ten finishes at the PGA Championship and The Open.

Scheffler also won four signature events as well as the Tour Championship, cementing his status as the man to beat.
