Scott Speedman Enters the Florida Underworld in ABC’s RJ Decker - Watch the Trailer Here
ABC is heading to South Florida this March with RJ Decker, a one-hour drama led by Scott Speedman and inspired by Double Whammy by Carl Hiaasen. The series follows Decker, a former newspaper photographer whose life unraveled after a scandal and a prison stint. Now out and looking for redemption, he reinvents himself as a private investigator navigating the vibrant, chaotic, and frequently dangerous corners of South Florida. His cases are anything but ordinary, often veering into the strange and unpredictable, and he doesn’t face them alone. Decker’s orbit includes his journalist ex, her wife — a no-nonsense police detective — and a mysterious benefactor from his past whose motives remain unclear and whose involvement could either save him… or send him right back behind bars. Joining the cast is Jaina Lee Ortiz, fresh off her run on Station 19, as Emi Ochoa. Emi is the sharp, volatile daughter of a deeply influential (and deeply corrupt) senator, and she shares a complicated, unfinished history with Decker. As teased in the show’s trailer, their reunion is immediate, intense, and very much combustible. The supporting cast adds further depth, with Adelaide Clemens playing Catherine Delacroix, Decker’s ex and a journalist; Kevin Rankin as Aloysius, Decker’s former cellmate; and Bevin Bru as Melody Romero, a Fort Lauderdale police detective who also happens to be married to Catherine.
