Ryan Fox’s Open Championship victory was something else

Ryan Fox is officially the Open Champion Golfer of the Year.

The Royal Birkdale win was Fox’s third PGA Tour title and his first major championship victory. It all came in his 94th start on Gour, just six months shy of his 40th birthday. Golf truly represents a mountain that can be conquered by anyone.

This is seriously why golf is the best. At any given moment any amazing story can unfold and at Royal Birkdale it was Ryan Fox who wrote it.

Fox became the lowest-ranked winner, he was previously world number 56, of the Open since Darren Clarke in 2011 who was 111 at the time. Fox came from behind to pull it all off as he was T85 following an opening-round 72 where he was 7 strokes back.

Ryan was one of the people who set the major championship round scoring record of 62 throughout the Open as he posted his on Saturday. Both Lucas Herbert and Sam Burns, who Fox edged out for the win at large, dropped theirs on Friday.
