Real reason behind Roman Reigns’ heavy sweating on WWE RAW revealed
Just days after his victory against CM Punk at WWE WrestleMania 42, Roman Reigns found himself engaged in a feud against his cousin Jacob Fatu. Following their verbal confrontation last week, things between Fatu and Reigns got physical on the Apr. 27 edition of Monday Night RAW.
In the closing moments of the episode, fans saw Fatu lock Reigns in a Tongan Death Grip. The hold left Reigns profusely sweating and completely drenched in his own sweat. While it portrayed the physicality of the moment, later a different reason was revealed behind the sweating.
Later, fans on social media disclosed that the WWE RAW in Laredo, Texas, was incredibly hot. They commented that the air conditioning in the building was almost nonexistent, and the pyro made it hotter. Interestingly, Sames Auto Arena experienced some issues before the show took place. With the audience having to fan themselves to stay cool, the Superstars in the ring felt much hotter due to the lights and other effects on them.
Reigns is next scheduled to face Jacob Fatu at WWE Backlash 2026.

More updates on the Sames Auto Arena AC issue
Council member Ruben Guitterez, who represents the area and attended WWE RAW, stated that the Sames Auto Arena experienced a power outage several hours before the event, around 2 a.m.
Despite the power outage lasting only a few hours, WWE’s morning setup, including the use of pyrotechnics, resulted in the cool air escaping. Preparations occurring all day prevented the arena from achieving a proper cool-down.
“By 4 p.m., of course, WWE is setting up stuff there, fire going on inside there, fireworks going on to make sure stuff is working, heating up the place. Once the doors opened up at 5:30, the doors are open again, letting over 8,000 people in there. The AC is just going out, going out, going out, and the AC just could not recoup fast enough with 8,000 people in there, pyrotechnics going on inside the arena,” Gutierrez said.
