Real Madrid lay out plan to pursue PSG superstar if Vinicius Junior leaves club
Real Madrid and Vinicius Junior are engaged in a lengthy contract stand-off, with the Brazilian holding out for more money, and Real Madrid refusing to raise their last offer. Talks are set to resume next summer, but if things do not play out as planned, then Los Blancos have a plan in place.
Vinicius has always mantained publicly a desire to stay the Bernabeu, and this week it was reported that President Florentino Perez is keen to keep him too. Real Madrid fully intend to keep Vinicius, unless they cannot reach a deal.
Vitinha on the Real Madrid agenda
However Cadena SER say that if they cannot, then Los Blancos will switch their attentions to Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Vitinha. They would look to sell Vinicius, with a minimum asking price of €100m, and then put that money towards an all-out offensive for the Portuguese midfielder. It is not the first time that Los Blancos’ interest in Vitinha has been noted, and they feel he is the player that could make the difference for them in midfield.
Why have Real Madrid not moved for a midfielder?
There has been much discussion over why Los Blancos have not sought to replace Toni Kroos and Luka Modric in recent months. Jorge C. Picon has explained that the hierarchy at Real Madrid are aware that the side is missing a player of that ilk in the middle of the pitch, but searching the market, found no players that they were convinced by and were affordable.
Que el Real Madrid necesita un centrocampista creativo lo saben perfectamente dentro del club. De hecho, el curso pasado estuvieron buscando un sustituto de Luka Modric a conciencia de que sería el último del croata.

As such, they placed their hopes in one, or both, of Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler being able to perform in a deeper role. Neither have been success stories in that regard though.
Vitinha move difficult
With or without the money from a sale for Vinicius, a deal for Vitinha looks enormously difficult to pull off. PSG have him under contract until 2029, and would loathe to lose him, even more so to Real Madrid. Los Blancos would have to convince him to push for a move, and even then, PSG have shown with Kylian Mbappe they will not cave to a player’s demands.
