Raptors vs. Cavs 2026 NBA Playoffs Game 5 prediction, odds, pick

The 2026 NBA Playoffs continue through a heated First Round as we bring you a prediction and pick for this upcoming Game 5 tilt in the Eastern Conference. The Toronto Raptors will take on the Cleveland Cavaliers with their series tied 2-2. Check our NBA Playoffs odds series for the Raptors-Cavaliers prediction and pick.

The Toronto Raptors responded with a 93-89 victory over the Cavs in Game 4, defending their home floor and heading back to Cleveland with the series tied. The Cavaliers were held to their lowest-scoring game of the regular season and postseason as Toronto’s Scottie Barnes and Brandon Ingram both scored 23 points each to lead their team down the stretch.

Teams that win Game 5 in a 2-2 series go one to win about 85% of the time and with neither team able to break through with a road win, this series heavily favors the Cavs as they return home the significant favorites in a pivotal game.

Keys to Raptors vs. Cavs Matchup

The Raptors took back-to-back games on their home floor as they have yet to lose Scotiabank Arena against the Cavaliers this season. Toronto notably swept the season series 3-0 with two of those wins coming in Cleveland, but this series has clearly been in favor of the home team through all four games. Neither team was very effective from the field in Game 4 and the Raptors shot just 13% from three, but they created 18 turnovers and edged Cleveland in the rebounding totals while stealing the game in the fourth quarter.

It may be more difficult for them to build that kind of momentum at Rocket Arena as the Raptors have only led for 13% of the minutes in road games during this series. If trends continue, the Cavs will obviously have this series guaranteed and their lineup is much deeper and built for the playoffs, especially with James Harden at the helm distributing the ball. He’s averaging 31.0 PPG against the Raptors this season and made a huge impact with 10 assists in a Game 1 win and five steals during their Game 2 win. Expect another strong performance out of Harden as he’s been noticeably better on their home floor this season.

The Raptors have been waiting all series for their elite defense to finally arrive, holding the fourth-highest scoring offense in the NBA to their lowest total of the season. The Raptors defense totaled 11 steals and eight blocks while turning defense into offense, not allowing Cleveland to find their shooting rhythm all game. Behind another strong performance from their big three of RJ Barrett, Scottie Barnes, and Brandon Ingram, the Raptors can certainly steal a win on the road if their defense is able to follow suit.

However, fans should also expect a much better showing out of Evan Mobley as he scored just eight points on 4-11 FG attempts and missed all of his three attempts from deep. He’s been the x-factor for the Cavs all season and they’re at their best when Mobley is able to serve as a dual-threat both scoring and shot blocking for them inside. Expect a more aggressive scoring approach early as they try to establish his presence in the paint.

Raptors vs. Cavs Prediction and Pick

This should be another exciting game as home teams have dominated this series thus far. The Raptors still own three regular season wins over the Cavs and shouldn’t be taken lightly throughout the remainder of this series, but it’s clear Cleveland will have the edge returning to their home floor following an anomaly of a scoring performance.

Still, if the Raptors are able t remain competitive on the boards and neutralize the production of Cavs’ Evan Mobley, they should have a chance to keep this game close through the first half and hold the lead into the second.

However, for our final prediction, we’ll roll with the Cleveland Cavaliers to cover this spread at home as each team has been able to cover the spread on their home floor this series.

Final Raptors-Cavs Game 5 Prediction & Pick: Cleveland Cavaliers -8.5 (-115); OVER 215.5 (-115)
