Quinn Hughes makes Wild history with massive Game 6 goal vs. Stars

Jack Hughes scored one of the most important goals in Team USA hockey history in the Milano Cortina Olympics, and a little more than two months later, his brother Quinn Hughes has scored one of the most important goals in recent Minnesota Wild history.

The superb defenseman fired the puck past Jake Oettinger with 13:37 remaining in the first period, giving his squad an early 1-0 lead in Game 6 of  this opening-round series. Thanks to Hughes, the Wild are just two frames away from advancing to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2015.

By lighting the lamp, the 2023-24 James Norris Memorial Trophy winner becomes the first Minnesota defenseman to ever score six points in the first round of the postseason, per the NHL Public Relations X account.
