Premier League Darts – Play-offs prediction
The final night of the Premier League is finally upon us, with top four finishers of the league stage going head to head in a best of 19 semi final for a place in the best of 21 final.
The four semi finalists were already known prior to the final night of league action last week in Sheffield, but it wasn’t known yet who would be playing whom.
The opening semi final clash sees the table topper and reigning world champion Luke Littler take on former world champion Gerwyn Price.
The teenager’s run to the semi finals last week in Sheffield saw him finish nine points clear at the top of the table, with at least two more nightly victories than any other player.
Littler, who was crowned Premier League champion in his first year in the competition back in 2024, before being beaten in last year’s final, will be eager to win back the title on Thursday night, but first must overcome a semi final against Price.
The Welshman dropped down to fourth in the league standings after his defeat to Stephen Bunting in last week’s semi final, leaving him with the unenviable task of needing to get the better of Littler in the semi final.
The two players have met six times in the Premier League so far this year, with the Englishman winning on all six occasions, extending his winning streak over the Welshman to eight matches.
The other semi final sees Jonny Clayton, who led the Premier League table so much of this season, winning four finals in his return to the competition after being overlooked in each of the last two years.
The Welshman only won one of his last five matches in the league phase of the campaign but has long been assured of a place in the semi finals after a blistering start to the tournament.
‘The Ferret’ is the only player to have occupied a top four spot for the entirety of the Premier League campaign, and has been stationed in the top two for 13 of the last 14 weeks, leading the league table for more time than anyone else.
Clayton’s slight drop off in form in the latter weeks of the competition has seen him drop into second place, but will fancy his chances at taking down Humphries in the semi final, having got the better of him in three of their four Premier League meetings.
Humphries does, however, head into the playoffs in the best form of the four, recovering well from a slow and disappointing beginning to the defence of his title he won 12 months ago.
The defending champion was sat down in sixth in the table with only three weeks to go, but ‘Cool Hand’ reached four consecutive finals to book his ticket to London, winning the penultimate week of the campaign, his only nightly win, and even snuck into the top three on the final night.
The world number two was the only player to average over 100 across the entirety of the league stage, and has won 12 of his last 13 matches in all competitions.
It’s difficult to see anything but a third consecutive final between Littler and Humphries, with the latter’s recent formidable form perhaps making him the man to beat.
Premier League Darts – Play-offs betting tips
Humphries on the up
After a very slow start to the campaign, the defending champion stormed into the semi final and makes the trip to London in the richest vein of from, reaching the final of each of the last four nights of Premier League action, and with 12 wins in his last 13 matches in all competitions.
‘Cool Hand’ faces an out of form Clayton (five losses in his last 10) in the semi final, and has won each of his last two matches against the tournament favourite Littler.
Despite only breaking into the top four in the latter stage of the league campaign, boasts the highest average of all eight players across the league stage, the only one to average over 100.

The Price is wrong
Gerwyn Price has lost four of his last seven matches in the Premier League, and suffered more quarter final exits than any other player in the semi finals, four of those coming in the last seven weeks, and is without a nightly win to his name in that time.
Meanwhile, Littler, after a slow start by his sky high standards, finished nine points clear at the top of the league stage, snapping into gear when it mattered most, winning three of the last five finals of the campaign.
The teenager has won his last eight matches against Price, threw at least 23 more 180s than the next best in the tournament (121, while Price managed just 82), as well as five times as many ‘big fish’ checkouts than any other player, reeling in five, while no one else managed more than one.
- Luke Littler to be King of the Oche (win the match, highest checkout and most 180s) against Gerwyn Price at 43/20 with BetMGM
