Portsmouth vs Oxford predictions
Portsmouth have hit some really poor form of late whereas United at least put themselves in a much better position to potentially save themselves with some crucial wins against West Brom, Preston and Blackburn last month.
Since those three wins though there’s not been too much to shout about, but still have the momentum.
The alarm bells will be going for Pompey who failed to win across all their four games in March securing just one point from Blackburn.
Portsmouth vs Oxford betting tips
Relegation six pointer too close to call
The reverse fixture between these two sides came all the way back in August well before any threat of relegation, only talks of potential teams that could be down there at the bottom come the end of the season, of course Oxford were mentioned coming up from League One.
Portsmouth’s win 1-0 away from home was a narrow one as both sides looked capable of getting the win at various stages.
But with so much on the line in this game and just a few days after their Good Friday games, they won’t want to risk going too far forward and leaving themselves exposed at the back.
As a result, a draw looks more than likely – both sides have drawn plenty this season, ten for Portsmouth and 12 for Oxford.
It’s hard to pick either of these to win given their respective forms too.
Card stats
Cards could be the ideal option to bet on here, but not for getting plenty of bookings.
Oxford are not only ranked low in the table but also in the table for most yellow cards, similarly for Portsmouth.
But Pompey have by far get more than their opponents picking up as many as 75 in just 38 games.
With nearly two on average per game and 1.64 on average for Oxford, over 3 bookings is a measured approach to the game that could see plenty but might also fall into a game that is cagey in midfield with so much on the line.
