P.J. Tucker livid over ‘1000%’ Jarrett Allen foul that wasn’t called for Pistons
The Cleveland Cavaliers outlasted the Detroit Pistons in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference Semifinal series on Wednesday evening, winning 117-113 in overtime to take a three games to two series lead.
However, there was controversy near the end of regulation with the score tied at 103. After Detroit’s Ausar Thompson blocked Donovan Mitchell’s shot attempt, he went for the loose ball before being tripped by Cleveland’s Jarrett Allen. Veteran referee Tony Brothers did not call a foul, which would have given Detroit a chance to win in regulation.
Former NBA player P.J. Tucker was livid at the non-call, saying that it was something that should be called “1,000 percent” of the time at any point in a game.
“You call that call anytime of the game. That call has to be made,” Tucker said via NBA Courtside on X. “1000 percent. There’s no way you don’t make that call — I believe it was a foul. If I were a Pistons fan, I wouldn’t listen to anything else.”
P.J. Tucker and Brian Windhorst reach to the no call on Ausar Thompson last night:

After the game, referee Tony Brothers said that no foul was called because of “incidental contact”.
“During live play, both players were going for the ball, and there was incidental contact with the legs with no player having possession of the ball,” Brothers explained in the postgame pool report via NBA.com.
The Cavaliers can punch their ticket to the Eastern Conference Final if they beat the Pistons in Game 6, which is on Friday evening in Cleveland. So far in the NBA Playoffs, the Cavaliers are undefeated at home.
