Phillies’ Christopher Sanchez completes historic feat after 1 inning vs. Padres
Philadelphia Phillies star Cristopher Sanchez continues to pitch at a high level in 2026. After just one inning of work on Wednesday against the San Diego Padres, Sanchez extended his scoreless inning streak to 45.2 innings, which is the most for a left-handed pitcher in MLB history.

Sanchez still has work to do to reach Orel Hershiser’s 59 consecutive scoreless innings streak, but he is not too far behind. For now, Sanchez is focused on keeping the Padres off the board on Wednesday night.
