Penn State lose 4-star CB to a Virginia school, but not James Franklin’s

Penn State brought in Matt Campbell to replace James Franklin as the head coach. While multiple players left the program, staying with Franklin at Virginia Tech, Campbell has been solid on the College football recruiting trail, as Penn State has won multiple recruiting battles.

Now, a four-star cornerback has flipped his commitment from Penn State to a Virginia school, but not to join James Franklin, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals.

Four-star cornerback Semajay Robinson has flipped from Penn State to the University of Virginia. He has been committed to Penn State since March.  While he had given a verbal commitment to Penn State, Robinson was still taking visits and visited Charlottesville, according to Zach Blostein of 247Sports.

“UVA has been real since day one and never stopped showing love,” Robinson said of why he made this decision to flip to Virginia.

Robinson also spoke of the coaching staff during his last visit to Virginia.

“It was really [defensive backs] coach [ShaDon] Brown and coach [Tony] Elliot — the coaching staff has been together for a long time, which is just great,” Robinson said of his latest visit. “They really surprised me this weekend.”

Robinson is ranked as the 34th-ranked corner in the nation and the 255th-ranked player overall nationally. He becomes the eighth commitment for the Class of 2027 for UVA. He is also the highest-rated recruit so far for the class, and just the second player outside of the state of Virginia.

UVA currently has the 54th-ranked class in the nation, and 14th in the ACC.
