Pat McAfee’s wife reacts to his WrestleMania stunt

Pat McAfee’s wife is thankful for his participation during WrestleMania last weekend.

The ESPN host was a part of a stunt that involved singer Jelly Roll smashing him through an announce table. The “incident” left McAfee being wheeled away on a stretcher and then reappearing with a neck brace.

“First morning since 2017 babe is completely out of the wrestling business, thanks @jellyroll615,” Samantha McAfee wrote via her Instagram Story over a photo of Pat, lying down in a hotel couch over looking the Las Vegas Strip as he seemingly sipped some coffee with his neck brace still in tact.

Jelly Roll reshared the photo onto his own Instagram Story per a screenshot from Us Weekly, writing, “It was my pleasure. Honestly.”

Pat McAfee was in charge of announcing the main event, which was between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.

A day after WrestleMania ended, Pat revealed his fate with wrestling. He shared in a statement on April 20 on his eponymous ESPN show. He reminisced about his time in WWE and how he was able to try out almost every position.

“The good news is, the business doesn’t need to be saved after all. And good for them. And for me, I finished my story,” he said.. “I came up in the indies, IWA East Coast. I went through development, NXT. I was a wrestler, trained by Rip Rogers…Get to WWE, commentated, lucky to do that. Did pre-shows, lucky to do that. Wrestled, lucky to do that. Reffed, lucky to do that. Managed, lucky to do that. It’s been a hell of a run. Thank you, wrestling. It was an honor to be over there.”

Pat worked with WWE from 2018 to 2026 and became a mainstay in 2019. In his time in the WWE he served as a pre-show analyst, commentator, and even an in-ring performer. In addition to his career in the WWE, he is mostly known as a former All-Pro NFL punter and media personality. He played played eight seasons as a punter for the Indianapolis Colts and as the host of The Pat McAfee Show.
