Packers’ Keisean Nixon makes bold statement on Bears rivalry

The Green Bay Packers have plenty of reasons to hate the Chicago Bears. Last year, Green Bay collapsed against Chicago in the playoffs after losing Micah Parsons and other key contributors during the back half of the season. The Packers will also see Caleb Williams’ face on the cover of Madden this season. The NFL’s most iconic rivalry could get even better in 2026.

Packers cornerback Keisean Nixon was asked about the team’s rivalry with the Bears during a recent interview. He confirmed that Green Bay still has a bad taste in its mouth after how last season ended.

“Yeah, for sure,” Nixon replied, per Cameron Ezeir of WFRV Sports. “We’ll see them twice a year. They know what’s up, we know what’s up. It’s what it is.”

Nixon declared that the Bears hate the Packers more than the other way around.

“They hate us more than we hate them. We’ve been worried about other teams. We’re worried about them now though, they’re a really good football team,” Nixon added. “Coached well, they play hard. But our process is not the Chicago Bears. That’s not our Super Bowl. Our process is to win the [NFC] North first, in order to do that we’ve got to beat them anyway. It’s just like Detroit and Minnesota.”

Nixon made it incredibly clear that Green Bay is not particularly stressing about beating Chicago. They’re just one obstacle on the road to the Super Bowl.

“The Bears is not like our thought process of the offseason, like who cares,” Nixon concluded.

It sounds like this rivalry will have a revitalized energy during the 2026 season.

Green Bay hosts Chicago in Week 5 before playing a road game on Christmas Day against their division rival.
