Orioles announce 2 roster moves before Rays game
The Baltimore Orioles continue to make roster moves, as the team searches for wins this season. Ahead of a game on Tuesday evening against the Tampa Bay Rays, Baltimore is recalling left-handed relief pitcher Nick Raquet from Triple-A Norfolk. The team announced the move on Tuesday.
In a second move, the club is also designating left-handed reliever Dietrich Enns for assignment. This season, Enns appeared in 13 games for Baltimore. He posted a 3.94 ERA with three wins.
“Because he’s making $2.625 million this season, Enns is likely to clear waivers and remain in the organization at Triple-A Norfolk,” CBS Sports reported.
The moves are the latest in a long list of roster and lineup changes Baltimore has seen this year. This season, the Orioles are struggling. Baltimore is 24-30 on the season. The club has been hampered by injuries, including to star infielder Jackson Holliday.
Raquet, like Enns, has done some work for Baltimore already this season. He has pitched in three games for the club. He struggled in those appearances, posting a 10.13 ERA in two-plus innings.
He last pitched for Baltimore on May 2, in a game against the New York Yankees. Raquet also worked two games early in April.
Raquet spent the 2025 season with the St. Louis Cardinals, where had better results. Although he pitched in just two games with that team, the reliever didn’t allow a single run. He had a 0.00 ERA in 2025.
The reliever has spent a lot of time this season in the minors. With Triple-A Norfolk, Raquet has appeared in 11 games. He has a 3.29 ERA with that club, along with one win.
Baltimore enters Tuesday’s game with six losses in their last 10 contests. Orioles fans hope Raquet can help give the bullpen a boost moving forward.
Baltimore is currently fourth in the American League East.
