OG Anunoby’s last second strategy before NBA Finals Game 5

The New York Knicks are coming into their biggest game of the NBA Finals thus far against the San Antonio Spurs with Game 5 being a potentially championship-clinching one. The Knicks have closed out all their previous playoff series’ this season in impressive fashion, on the road and by 30+ points. And for Knicks wing OG Anunoby, it’s going to take more of the same mentality to eliminate the Spurs on their homecourt, as per ESPN.

“Just knowing that it’s the hardest game. The elimination game is the hardest game,” Anunoby said right before Game 5. “So coming out from the start with energy, attention to detail and executing our game plan.”

OG Anunoby was the hero in Game 4, coming up with the two biggest plays of the game on both ends of the floor. Following his block on De’Aaron Fox’s layup attempt that would have put the Spurs up by three points, he swooped in for an offensive rebound on the next possession and tipped in the game-winner.

While Anunoby acknowledged that he’s re-watched that play a couple of times since Game 4, he’s already turned the page and 100 percent focused on Game 5.

“In the moment you’re excited. You’re happy you won cause you celebrate every win,” Anunoby said. “But you have to move on to the next game, get ready for Game 5.”

The past two games in particular have been huge for the former Indiana standout. He dropped 28 points in Game and followed that up with 33 points in Game 4. During the Knicks’ playoff run thus far, he’s been averaging a playoff career-high 20.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.1 blocked shots with splits of 57.8 percent shooting from the field, 50.6 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 86.7 percent shooting from the free-throw line.
