Netflix has revealed their official trailer for the documentary film titled Queen of Chess, which is premiering very soon at the upcoming 2026 Sundance Film Festival kicking off later this week. From acclaimed, Academy Award-nominated doc filmmaker Rory Kennedy (Downfall: The Case Against Boeing, The Volcano: Rescue From Whakaari, Last Days in Vietnam) this exciting, inspiring new doc will be out to watch starting in February. A Hungarian girl dreams of conquering the male-dominated world of international chess. After a 15-year battle against world champion Garry Kasparov, Judit Polgár revolutionizes the sport's patriarchal culture to become one of the greatest chess prodigies in history as well as the greatest woman chess player of all time. This seems to be the same story that inspired The Queen's Gambit chess prodigy series with Anya Taylor-Joy a few years ago. The doc features music by Camilo Forero and Chris Brocato for Bleeding Fingers Music.
