NBA rumors: Bill Simmons floats wild Celtics-Nuggets trade involving Jaylen Brown, Jamal Murray, others
Since winning the NBA championship back in 2023, the Denver Nuggets have failed to count among bonafide title contenders in the last three seasons. And while Nikola Jokic remains one of the best players in the league, the three-time MVP hasn’t necessarily had the help around him to lead Denver to the business end of the postseason, which is why rumors related to the Boston Celtics’ Jaylen Brown have been consistent in the current offseason.
The Denver Nuggets have internally discussed compiling a trade package to acquire Jaylen Brown and pair him with Nikola Jokic, per @ChrisCanty99

And well, Bill Simmons has already floated a rather ambitious trade offer for the Nuggets to present to Boston, per a post on X by NBA Base.
“There’s a lot of smoke billowing around Denver in general. Some I believe some I don’t believe. Murray and Cam Johnson for Jaylen and Hauser which would save Denver ten million dollars this year,” he said.
The $10 million Denver will save on salary this way can also be employed to further improve the roster in free agency, and while Murray is undoubtedly their biggest asset outside of their Serbian, Denver have reportedly already discussed the trade internally, per Chris Canty.
“I would just say Denver has discussed this internally keep an eye on what the Denver Nuggets could potentially try to do in terms of cobbling together picks some players to build the package for Jaylen Brown to pair with Nikola Jokić,” he said.

Multiple reports now indicate that Brown is no longer viewed as completely untouchable, which is bound to result in continued interest even outside of Denver, who continue to look for ways to maximize their championship window with Jokic in his prime. Brown averaged 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game last season and continued to operate at a high level even after the return of Jayson Tatum.
And while questions might be asked about Brown’s potential fit in the Nuggets’ lineup, there is little doubt that his presence will immediately elevate the Nuggets, at least offensively.
