MLB world absolutely roasting Mets amid 10-game losing streak
The New York Mets will soon lose the ability to use one of Major League Baseball’s most used early-season cliches — “It’s still early.” Even if that will still be the case prior to the end of April, the Mets are falling apart early in the season.

Nice! Hated Mets in 1969, and still hate them now!

The Mets dropped their 10th consecutive game when they dropped a 4-2 decision to the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. New York won the National League East title with ease last year and the Mets were expected to be one of the primary challengers to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League. However, manager Carlos Mendoza’s team is in last place in the NL East, 6.5 games behind the resurgent Atlanta Braves.
The Mets have the worst record in the National League at 7-14, one-half game worse than the Colorado Rockies. Owner Steve Cohen’s team has been taking abuse for the long losing streak. In addition to fans who are leveling criticism of the high-priced team, MLB insider Bob Nightengale called the team’s recent performance the New York Mets Horror Show and he pointed out the team is enduring its longest losing streak since 2004.
The Mets need Bo Bichette and Francisco Lindor to fulfill leadership roles on the team by asserting themselves in the batter’s box. Bichette is considered one of the best hitters in Major League Baseball, but the former Toronto Blue Jay is off to slow start as he is hitting .227 with 1 home run and 9 runs batted in. Lindor has had slow starts before and he is hitting .200 with 1 home run and just 1 RBI.
