Michael Beasley assembles all-time one-and-done starting five

Whenever fans talk about the greatest college players in recent memory, Michael Beasley is usually mentioned. Even though his career did not exactly pan out in the NBA, many have acknowledged his natural talent.

He is not nicknamed B-Easy for nothing.

Beasley entered into national consciousness with his crazy mixtape in high school. He then played for Kansas State, where he continued to showcase his effortless style. He averaged 26.2 points, 12.4 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 1.6 blocks in his one season with the Wildcats.

He led them to the 11th seed in the NCAA Tournament in 2008, bowing out to USC in the second round.

Beasley is widely considered one of the best one-and-done players ever. But when asked on “Club Shay Shay” to make an all-time one-and-done starting five, Beasley had other guys in mind.

“I’m going to take Derrick Rose at the one. I want to go big because I need rebounds, so I’ll take KD (Kevin Durant) at the two. Melo (Carmelo Anthony) at the three, Zion (Williamson) at the four, and AD (Anthony Davis) at the five,” said Beasley.

When asked why he didn’t include himself, the former Big 12 Player of the Year had a hilarious response.

“I want to win,” said Beasley.

Among the players mentioned by Beasley, who also shared a bold claim about LeBron James, Anthony and Davis won a national title, leading Syracuse and Kentucky in 2003 and 2012, respectively. Rose fell short with Memphis in the national championship in 2008.

Williamson reached the Elite Eight with Duke in 2019, while Durant only reached the second round with Texas in 2007.

The last time Kansas State advanced to the second round before the arrival of Beasley was in 1988.

Rose and Beasley were picked No. 1 and No. 2 in the NBA Draft after their one-and-done stints.
