Mets’ Juan Soto issues subtle warning after 8-0 Nationals thumping
The New York Mets have struggled in 2026. That is not a secret. They were able to earn an 8-0 victory against the Washington Nationals on Tuesday night. After the game, Juan Soto shared an intriguing comment, via SNY.
“We’ve been grinding every moment, every swing and it finally comes through,” Soto said. “… This is just the beginning. We are starting something special right here, we’re trying to go all the way. This is just a little taste of what it’s going to be at the end.”
New York is now 10-19 overall and tied with the Philadelphia Phillies for last place in the National League East standings. The Mets had a 12-game losing streak earlier in the season which played a big role in their underwhelming record and standings placement.
Soto, however, is confident in the team. He believes they can get back on track this season.
“You just gotta go from the top to the bottom, we have a great lineup,” Soto added. “There’s a lot of teams out there that would love to have a lineup like this. So I feel like we have all the talent in the world.”
The Mets still have plenty of work to do. With that being said, the roster does feature no shortage of talent. It would not be shocking to see the ball club bounce back and compete this season. However, the Mets must find consistency sooner rather than later.
They will play the Nationals once again on Wednesday night at 7:10 PM EST.
