Mauricio Ruffy keeps White House knockout party going with win vs Michael Chandler
The knockouts just keep on coming at UFC Freedom 250 at the White House, with lightweight Mauricio Ruffy joining the party.
The Brazilian Ruffy took just 4:29 in the first round to get the job done against his American opponent Michael Chandler.
It was a complete demolition on the part of the 29-year-old Ruffy, whose right hand and spinning kick to Chander marked the beginning of the end for the latter. Chandler tried to create distance between himself and Ruffy after absorbing a liver punch, but he was too vulnerable to do much against Ruffy.
A big right hand by Ruffy as Chandler tried to get up signaled the ref to end the fight.

Ruffy was simply too much for the 40-year-old Chandler to handle.
The stats show it as well, with Ruffy landing 20 total strikes (19 were significant), while Chandler only had three total strikes (all significant). Sixteen of Ruffy’s strikes were to the head of Chandler, who failed in all of his three attempts to take Ruffy to the ground.
Ruffy is now 2-0 in 2026, as he also won his first fight of the year late last January against Rafael Fiziev at UFC 325: Volkanovski vs. Lopes 2. He also improves his overall MMA record to 14-2-0 to go along with a 13-1 knockout slate.
As mentioned, it has been a knockout galore in the early goings of this UFC event that is taking place on the South Lawn of the White House.
Earlier, Diego Lopes finished Steve Garcia in the first round before Bo Nickal dismantled Kyle Daukaus for a first-round TKO.
