Mark Cuban breaks silence on Mavericks’ shocking Jason Kidd firing

The Dallas Mavericks made the stunning decision to part ways with head coach Jason Kidd on Tuesday despite a good amount of playoff success during his time with the team. Fans had mixed reactions to the decision, but it was clear that new Dallas president Masai Ujiri wanted a fresh start on the bench heading into his first season.

Mark Cuban is no longer the majority owner of the Mavericks and is not involved in the basketball operations anymore, but his voice still rings loudly when it comes to his former team. On Tuesday, he commented on the Kidd firing, via Mike Doocy of FOX 4 News.

“Obviously I’m a jkidd fan,” Cuban wrote in an email to FOX 4. “So I’m surprised and disappointed. But we have to give Masai a chance to see what happens. He has been through this before.”
