Cal Raleigh hasn’t been himself this season since his WBC disaster for Team USA, but the Seattle Mariners catcher is still an important piece of the team’s lineup. With the Mariners struggling to piece together wins and a devastating three-game sweep at the hands of the lowly Kansas City Royals this past weekend, they now face an important decision regarding Raleigh’s side injury. The Mariners’ catcher will miss his third-straight game Monday, according to Adam Jude via X, formerly Twitter.

Raleigh is batting .186 on the season, tallying just seven home runs, putting him way off the pace he set last season in the epic race with Aaron Judge. It’s unclear whether the side injury has been bothering him all season, but if it has, it could explain the struggles and why they are now considering an extended absence to get him back to 100%.
