Marcus Rashford set to return to Man United with Barcelona buy clause expiring in days

Barcelona are not expected to trigger Marcus Rashford’s option to buy clause before it expires, talkSPORT understands.

As a result, Rashford is set to return to Old Trafford following the World Cup.

The forward is currently with the England squad ahead of this summer’s tournament.

Barcelona remain keen to bring Rashford back to the club ahead of next season.

However, another loan move is currently the most likely solution for the 28-year-old.

Meanwhile, United have confirmed that Jadon Sancho has left the club after five seasons.

Sancho was signed for £75million from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 and played 83 games.

The winger spent last season on loan at Aston Villa following previous temporary spells with Dortmund and Chelsea.

As for Rashford, he helped Barcelona win their 29th LaLiga title last term.

Across 32 league appearances for Barca, Rashford scored eight goals and added nine assists.

He also scored five times in 11 Champions League outings as well as providing four assists for his team-mates.
