Magic’s Jamahl Mosley shouts out Paolo Banchero’s game-changing abilities
The Orlando Magic notched their fourth straight win after beating the Minnesota Timberwolves, 132-120, at Kia Center on Wednesday. It was a critical victory for the Magic as they are trying to avoid the Play-In Tournament.
Orlando improved to 44-36 and moved up to seventh place in the Eastern Conference. The team is just a half-game behind the Toronto Raptors for sixth place.
Paolo Banchero once again starred for the Magic, tallying all-around numbers of 20 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. He shot 8-of-11 from the field.
In the postgame conference, Orlando coach Jamahl Mosley gave credit to Banchero’s willingness to attack the paint instead of pulling up for outside shots.
“He’s tough to guard. He’s already getting downhill as much as he can. Teams do a great job of trying to plug that paint up, but he put his mind to the fact that he’s gonna get downhill, he’s gonna attack the basket, whether they have shot-blocking or not,” said Mosley in the video posted by Spectrum News 13’s Brandon Green.
“He put his head down and went, and I think his ability to do that for us changes the game.”

In their last three games, the 23-year-old Banchero is averaging 24.6 points on 59.3% shooting from the field, while adding 9.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.0 steals.
Throughout the season, there have been concerns regarding his efficiency, as he tends to force shots or settle for jumpers instead of playing physical and bulldozing his way to the basket.
The learning curve remains high for Banchero, who is in his fourth year in the NBA. He has the talent to prove critics wrong, and what better way to do it than by continuing to put his head down and leading the Magic in the playoffs?
