Magic’s Franz Wagner out for pivotal Game 6 vs. Pistons with calf injury

Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner suffered a calf injury in Game 4 against the Detroit Pistons that caused him to miss Game 5, and he’ll remain out of the team’s lineup for a crucial Game 6, according to Jason Beede via X, formerly Twitter. The Magic, who were in pursuit of a massive upset in the first round after taking a 3-1 series lead, missed their second-leading scorer from the regular season in the Game 5 loss.

Wagner was in the middle of his best game of the playoffs in Game 4 when he suffered the injury, recording 19 points, five rebounds, and three assists in just 24 minutes. The Magic were able to hold on for a 94-88 victory in that game, but things didn’t go as smoothly in Game 5.

More information to come.
