Luke Humphries, take a bow.

‘Cool Hand’ delivered fans in Milton Keynes a moment to remember as he hit the first televised nine-darter of 2026.

Humphries produced the moment of darting perfection to wrap up the second set of his second round clash against Luke Woodhouse at this year’s World Masters.

The defending champion worked his way down to 141 having tossed in six perfect darts and didn’t let up.

Humphries pinned treble 20, then treble 19 and rounded it off with double 12 to send fans into delirium.

Woodhouse could only stand and smile having watched Humphries’ brilliance unfold only a few feet away.

“It is control, it is brilliant, it is elegant, it is perfect from Humphries,” Dan Dawson said on ITV.

“A nine-darter from the defending champion.

“Pandemonium in Milton Keynes as Humphries doubles his lead with a perfect leg.”

Prior to his checkout, Humphries had taken the conventional route with back-to-back 180s.

Humphries’ nine-darter helped him take a 2-0 lead on Saturday evening.

However, Woodhouse didn’t let his rival’s moment in the spotlight hinder him as he took the third set to reduce the deficit to 2-1.

But the former world champion issued a timely reminder of his brilliance to restore the two-set buffer.

Perhaps Humphries somewhat rued the fact he hit his nine-darter in Milton Keynes rather than at the Saudi Arabia Darts Masters only a few weeks ago.

In Riyadh, players had the opportunity to win £74,500 had they achieved darting perfection at the tournament.

However, they would have the chance to instantly double their prize money if they pinned the bullseye with a tenth dart.

It meant that players would have won nearly £150,000 for just ten darts.

Unfortunately no-one competing in Riyadh managed to do so.
